The cambelt is one of the most important components of your car, and like all of them over time, is subject to wear and tear. Although there is no set rule for how often you should replace the cambelt, at MRC, we’d recommend sticking to the manufacturer’s guidelines, although how often you need to change it will also depend on how much your car is driven.

If the cambelt snaps, it can cause serious engine damage, so it’s definitely a better and far cheaper option to replace the cambelt before it gets so worn that it snaps. At our workshop in Buckie, we can check your cambelt and advise you on whether it needs changing, and can of course change it for you if needs be.
